Change of Web Host

As part of our continued improvements to both ELPsych! and DisabledPeople.org, we have migrated both sites across to a new, UK based Web Host.  Hopefully this will make the site management side a little easier.

For readers, we have added a few little features that make it easier for you to follow both sites.

  • Twitter – Both ELPsych! and DisabledPeople.org can be followed on Twitter by navigating to http://twitter.com/DisabledPeople.  Any updates to either site will be Tweeted immediately.
  • If you would prefer to receive updates by email, simply pop your address into the box, top right.  You’ll get a confirmation email from Feedburner asking you to “Opt-In”.  If you change your mind later, there is an “Unsubscribe” link in every email.
  • You can also use our Feed in your favourite Feed Reader.  Click the big orange square top right.
  • Finally, you can get all my update, including my personal blog at http://meJamie.com

Hopefully this makes it a little easier for everyone to find our content.  Remember, you’re more than welcome to comment as well!

The ELPsych! site has been in need of a makeover for quite a while now.  I’ve spent the last few weeks trying to do something about this whilst trying to keep the site’s content available to those that wanted it.  This led to a bit of a mess, but I think I’ve finally managed to tidy it up a bit!

Much of the content remains the same at the moment because I’ve been concentrating on presentation.  I have made quite a major change to the Link Directory though, bringing it into the main site rather than running a “sub-site” just for the directory.  Hopefully this will make it a bit more accessible.

Of course, the tweaking never really stops but the next job is to add some of the content that’s been suggested to me over the last couple of months.  Please remember to let me know about anything you’ve found useful on the web.  If it’s good, lets tell as many people as we can!

Dec 082008

We are now heading towards the Christmas break and historically this has been a surprisingly quiet time for the group work service.  In the past we have continued to run a group or two through the holidays but this has never been a successful tactic.

This year we are going to take a couple of weeks break whilst the schools are off.  This means that there will be no groups the weeks of the 22nd and 29th December 2008.  Our programme will resume on Monday 5th January 2009.  There will be new groups starting shortly after the New Year so we will publish a new Timetable as soon as possible.
