Our Aims
ELPsych! is a personal project that is not designed to make money. We may add some advertising to the site from time to time but if we decide to do this, our intention would be to attempt to meet operating costs only. Non of our contributors or volunteers are paid.
Advertising
We would also try to make any advertising beneficial in other ways. An example of this would be our use of Amazon Widgets. Here we can show you books that have been recommended and are thought to have particular value. Using the Widget, you can find out more about the book or resource. If you then decide to buy the product, you can help this project by purchasing through the Widget but also secure the item at a competitive price.
If you buy any items from an advertiser, we are not provided with information about transactions that take place. We are not involved in any such transactions and cannot be held responsible for any problems.
If you have any objections to any advertisements you see on our site, please contact us. In the unlikely event that our income is higher than our costs, all surplus funds will be donated to charity.
Getting Involved
We are very keen to encourage as much interaction with our site as possible. So, in an effort to make the site as accessible as possible, you no longer need to register to comment on articles but you will be asked for an email address. This will allow us to contact you if we are unsure about your comments and also gives us some control over spam. Any comments that we consider spam will be deleted. Please do not use language that others may find offensive, include excessive links or advertise anything unrelated to Mental Health.
Every article includes a “Comments” section. If you cannot see the comments section, click on the article’s title. This will take you to the article’s individual page.
Privacy
This site uses ‘Cookies‘ to gather statistical information about users of this site. This information cannot identify users. Many sites use this system and so your computer probably has ‘Cookies’ installed already. You can prevent any site installing ‘Cookies’ using the Privacy settings of your browser.
If you click on any adverts you might be asked to give more information. This request will come from the advertiser and not ELPsych. It is YOUR CHOICE whether to give any information.
We will ask for your email address:
- If you make a comment on the site.
- If you enter your address in the “Sign Up For Our Newsletter” box.
Your address will only be used for the reason you gave it to us. To contact you about a comment or to send you our Newsletter. Nothing else. We will not contact you unnecessarily or give your details to anyone else.

All information provided on the site is believed to be correct at the time of writing and is published in good faith. However, since we source a great deal of information from the Internet, it is not always possible to fully check the validity of any claims made. This means that some statements made might be wrong. We cannot offer any kind of medical advice and would recommend discussing any changes to treatment with a professional.
